The Assault on Skira Island is about to commence, you are part of the first wave, Capture the town of Taranay and setup a base of operations, then assist the allied forces as they take Skira back from the PLA forces

The AI are no longer reactive drones. Each echelon of 2 men now has a huge selection of behaviors that they can follow :
Defend : Choose a building/wall/sandbank and defend the location from that position
Patrol : Walk around the location defending different points for a few seconds at a time, before moving to the next
Roam : Walk around the surrounding area of a location searching for any approaching enemies
Advance : Move to and attempt to capture an enemy held locations
Advance (Gather) : wait and group into a sufficiently sized attack force before attempting to capture a location
Travel : take a vehicle and use the roads to move to another friendly location, or attack and enemy one
Defend Player (US only) : move to the player and join his squad, or follow the player around and defend the location the player is at
Heli Attackl : fly to enemy locations and attack all enemies in sight
Heli Defend : fly to a friendly location and defend it, attacking any enemies that approach
Attack : engage or assault nearby enemies
Regroup : move to friendly unit before continuuing to attack the enemy
Retreat : move quickly back to a friendly held location and then choose a new behaviour
Messenger : run to a nearby friendly location and request assistance when under attack
Search : search for suspected enemies (eg from hearing gunfire)
The behavior any echelon can follow is dependant on there current situation, and will often change as the situation changes

Every Installation/Town/Shack/Hut/Pier start under the control of the PLA forces. As you clear these locations of any enemy presence, they will come under the control of the US forces, allowing additional units to spawn in, aswell as special vehicles

The entire Skira Island is open to gameplay, with 94 locations to capture, you can go anywhere and make a difference!

There are two types of systems at play in this mission, the first is the "Active" system, which is the area around the player, locations are captured and defended by the AI units and the player(s) themselves. The second "Inactive" system has locations outside of the active area fight each other for control. The war doesnt stop just because you walked away!
Can I be your friend?
You start the mission with a fireteam of 4 men, as time goes on, some AI units may decide that its a good plan to follow your lead. these units will join your squad and come under your command, or just go where you go if you are already controlling the maximum number of units
I got a learners permit!
The AI are now aware of roads, and they will use them, sometimes. Going along the road is not always the smartest idea, as you are likely to run into enemy vehicles also driving along the same road.
When under fire, AI that are inside vehicles that do not have weapons, will jump out to attack, and then get back in once all is safe.
If a combat vehicle is under heavy fire, the crew may abandon it and take there chances on foot

This is hard! but not too hard!
The intelligent saving system will prevent you getting into those hopeless situations where there is no way out. Checkpoints will save when you capture locations, and every 5 minutes when no enemies are around. As an extra safety feature, you get 5 seconds of invulnerability when you load a save game!

As the day progresses, the weather will shift sometimes for the better, sometimes not. Keep your eyes peeled when the fog rolls in!
